Robert Half Management Resources has an exciting opportunity for a talented Assistant Controller to work with a team in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance field. This Assistant Controller position is a long-term temporary employment opportunity and is based in Newton, Massachusetts.
- Support the Company with technical accounting GAAP mentorship and external reporting
Ensure the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close are completed, as well financial statements
This position may also require participation in impromptu analyses/projects, system improvements, and special projects as assigned
Ensure policies for reporting and accounting are properly upheld
Handle treasure function to ensure cash forecasts are accurate and vendors are paid in a timely manner
Prepare external monthly and quarterly reporting packages to be supplied to Board meeting decks
Drive the monthly financial executive package and control book to include budget to actual comparisons by department
Arrange and manage account reconciliations/analyses for both balance sheet and income statement accounts
Assume leadership over external financial audits, providing efficient coordination
Play an active role in the development of the accounting team, including the staffing, performance management, and training of team members
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Vow to meet business deadlines
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Mindfulness of upcoming tasks and a planning attitude
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Bachelor degree in Accounting
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Experience with workday
Foundational knowledge in CPA
General familiarity with financial reconciliation
Well-founded grasp of month end closings
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Comprehensive knowledge of Form 10-K
Strong familiarity with Securities And Exchange Commission
Expertise in Form 10-Q
Proven knowledge of public company reporting
Similar industry experience
Relevant industry experience (preferred)
