This position is for candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead a staff of one. Day to day Responsibilities:

  • Direct the Finance team, including financial and management accounting process, balance sheet review and reconciliation processes.

  • Manage the working capital cycle of the business with particular focus on inventory and receivable control and management.

  • Ensure complete financial control is maintained including compliance with US GAAP, corporate accounting policy and SOX requirements.

  • Oversee monthly/quarterly reporting and the forecasting process.

  • Participate in formulating and delivering business strategy.

  • Drive business improvement and support this through the provision of accurate and timely financial information, working closely with the cross functional managers

  • Establish credit limits, resolve disputes and monitor collections.

  • Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

  • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

  • Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team

  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis


  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company

  • Great attention to detail

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Solid understanding of manufacturing

  • SOX experience

  • US GAAP experience

  • Proficiency in general ledger

  • General ledger experience

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • CPA or MBA preferred
