Description
Accounting Manager opportunity in NILES, Illinois, and involves a range of responsibilities, including the analysis of financial reports, hands on and management of closing activities, inventory accounting oversight of journal entries, variance analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities:
• Analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
• Providing valuable insights into business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses
• Leading monthly closing activities, including excel based reports and management reporting packages
• Conducting GL account analysis and evaluating the company’s operations from a financial and accounting viewpoint
• Checking financial statements and reports for accuracy and identifying problem areas along with suggested methods of correction
• Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts for the company
• Overseeing the AR invoicing and credit function and maintaining the fixed asset log with depreciation and lapsing schedules for both book and tax
• Providing staff with support and guidance and updating cost rates and standards in the system periodically for accuracy
• Liaising with external auditors to provide all information required for a thorough and accurate review/audit
• Ensuring monthly sales tax compliance and providing accounting support for other departments.
Requirements
• Applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting for manufacturing and distribution industries
• Strong Excel
• Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Demonstrated experience in account adjustments
• Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects
