Description
There is a terrific permanent position available for an experienced Staff Accountant at Robert Half. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting throughout the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in Norfolk NE.
Key responsibilities
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Requirements
BA/BS, AS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Journal entries experience
Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation
Practical knowledge of depreciation
Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Quality experience with Client Relations
Month end closings experience
General familiarity with depreciation
Detailed and have the ability work independently
