Robert Half Desktop Support Analyst in Norfolk, Virginia

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support to end-users, promptly resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software applications, and operating systems

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner

  • Assist with user account management in Active Directory, including account setup, password resets, and permissions management

  • Respond to support requests via phone, email, or in-person, ensuring timely and effective resolution

  • Follow standard operating procedures for incident management, documenting all support interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system

  • Conduct remote troubleshooting and provide remote support using remote access tools

  • Assist with the setup and configuration of audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, enhancing technical knowledge and skills through self-learning and training opportunities

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or degrees are a plus

  • 2+ years of experience in a desktop support or technical support role, preferably in a corporate environment

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop hardware components

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and peripherals

  • Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems

  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly assess and resolve issues

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
