Robert Half Help Desk Technician in Norfolk, Virginia

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues promptly and professionally

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals

  • Assist users with account setup, password resets, and permissions management in Active Directory and Microsoft 365

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner

  • Follow standard operating procedures for incident management, documenting all support interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system

  • Conduct remote troubleshooting and provide remote support using remote access tools

  • Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems on end-user devices

  • Provide guidance and training to end-users on basic hardware and software usage

  • Assist with the setup and configuration of audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, enhancing technical knowledge and skills through self-learning and training opportunities

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or degrees are a plus

  • 2+ years of experience in a help desk or technical support role, preferably in a fast-paced environment

  • Solid understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices

  • Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly assess and resolve issues

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment

  • CompTIA A+ certification a plus
