Robert Half Payroll Administrator in Norfolk, Virginia
Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in Norfolk, Virginia. This role primarily involves processing bi-weekly payroll, handling benefits administration, and maintaining accurate records for approximately 200 employees in a variety of roles. Familiarity with the Paylocity system is beneficial.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the processing of bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Handle benefits administration, including 401k - RRSP Administration
• Maintain precise payroll records for both exempt and non-exempt employees, ranging from 101 to 500
• Address and resolve any payroll-related inquiries from employees
• Utilize the Paylocity system to manage and monitor payroll processes effectively
• Ensure compliance with payroll-related regulations and company policies
• Handle payroll garnishments in accordance with legal requirements
• Continually update and improve payroll processes and systems for increased efficiency
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure integrated data and processes
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration
• Proficient in 401k - RRSP Administration
• Knowledgeable about Benefit Functions
• Experience in managing Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees
• Familiar with Payroll Garnishments
• Proficiency in using Paylocity software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws
• Experience in multi-state payroll processing is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
