Robert Half International Senior Financial Analyst in Norfolk, Virginia

Description There is an exciting long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity with one of our clients for a Senior Financial Analyst. Norfolk, Virginia will be the location for this Senior Financial Analyst. You might be right for this role if you like the idea of being our client's primary point of contact for all financial issues, including project spending, planning, forecasting and annual budgeting. The Senior Financial Analyst consultant will also perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments supporting public reporting requirements, and provide decision-making support for future company investments.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting - analyzing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating critical updates to senior leadership

  • Execute assistance in all ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests

  • Power existing management reporting by evaluating financial results, distilling and synthesizing issues, and articulating key updates to senior-level staff

  • Implement financial analysis as part of business performance optimization

  • Collaborate with Operations and Accounting to drive improved management reporting by tracking financial results more discreetly and accurately

  • Make business, operational, and financial processes to be shared, understood, and repeated by relevant teams

  • Cultivate positive relationships with key business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership

  • Coordinate with Functional leads to draft management reporting, accounting and compliance advisement, and guarantee alignment of operational initiatives Requirements

  • Skills in critical thinking and the ability to operate effectively with management

  • Practical knowledge of account analysis

  • Skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Wide ranging experience with financial reporting

  • General familiarity with analyzing revenues

  • Cost analysis experience preferred

  • KPI Reporting experience

  • Comprehension of Microsoft Excel

  • Well-founded grasp of internal audit

  • Knowledge of Expense Controls

  • Good understanding of SAP FICO

  • Ability to work cross functionally and influence appropriately

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively

  • A strong ability to work with office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended

  • Applicants are required to hold a Finance, Business, Statistics, Economics, or related field BA/BS degree

  • CPA or MBA preferred
