Robert Half Export Operations Manager in Norman, Oklahoma

Description

We are looking for an Export Operations Manager role in the high-tech engineering industry, located in Norman, Oklahoma. This role involves managing the import and export activities, establishing policies, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing relationships with carriers and warehouse operators and monitoring company performance related to compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development and Compliance: Formulate policies and oversee all import/export activities, including creating and delivering corporate customs compliance training and reviewing import declarations.

  • Vendor Relations and Negotiations: Cultivate relationships with carriers, warehouse operators, and insurance representatives to understand processes and negotiate favorable rates.

  • Operational Standards: Establish operational policies and standards for handling dangerous goods, ensuring compliance with transport regulations.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track company performance related to compliance, prepare reports for Senior Management, and develop strategic plans to address potential changes in schedules and policies.

  • Auditing and Documentation: Lead and participate in internal and external audits for customs compliance, process adherence, and vendor performance, preparing necessary documentation to maintain regulatory compliance.

  • Regulation Monitoring: Continuously monitor changes in customs regulations and update company policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Data Preparation: Compile and prepare data for submissions and reporting requirements related to customs filings.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of five years of related experience and/or training required.

  • Career Advancement: Depending on current business needs, this position may be filled through open applications or by appointment, with advancement typically following the outlined job levels. Acceleration may occur based on business needs and succession planning activities.
