• Ensures donor contributions are accurately and completely accounted for in the endowment system, and transferred appropriately to the general ledger system
• Maintains collaborative relationships with donor data operations team
• Prepares monthly reconciliations between advisors and custodian banks
• Prepares operating account and system reconciliations
• Prepares stock gift reconciliations
• Oversees distributions and allocations and ensures they are carried out in accordance with grants committee and donor wishes
• Performs monthly financial closing procedures for endowment
• Ensures that all financial reports are clear and easily understood
• Interface with donors as needed
• Prepares Endowment audit schedules and interface with auditors
• Perform other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate for this Non-Profit Accounting Manager will have their BS in Accounting, 3+ years of either straight public audit exp with NP clients or 3+ years of GL experience coming out of another NP, CPA+ and attention to detail. Base salary to 90K + a generous benefit package. Requirements - 3+ years of recent relevant financial experience
Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
Customer service oriented communication skills
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Experience with Annual Audited Financial Statements
Demonstrated knowledge of month end closings
Financial auditing experience preferred
Adeptness in general ledger
General familiarity with account reconciliation
Expertise in non-profit fund accounting
Nonprofit Organizations experience desired
Practical knowledge of CPA
Strong familiarity with Endowments
Proven technical skills
Active problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity
