Robert Half Staff Accountant in NORTH BETHESDA, Maryland
Description
My client, an investment and asset management firm is continuing to grow and is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller and be involved in a wide variety of finance and accounting responsibilities for several of their entities including two non-profits, an investment advisory company and two funds. They would like someone with a strong foundation in accounting that has a positive attitude and track record of successfully learning new skills and quickly being able to apply them. There is a ton of opportunity for growth and the Controller is committed to developing your skills and expanding responsibilities as you show that you can handle them.
Responsibilities include but are non limited to:
Accounting
• Liaise with offshore groups to obtain accounting information and reporting
• Invoice review and entry into Sage Intacct
• Perform bank reconciliations, draft closing journals
• Obtain credit card receipts, reconcile credit cards. and ensure charges appropriately coded
• Maintain all accrual schedules, including interest
• Review employee expense reports for compliance, add to Sage Intacct as needed
• Liaise directly with vendors to set up accounts and manage contracts
• Assist with fund and other entity financial statement audits
Treasury
• Open and maintain bank and credit accounts
• Prepare wires and ACH requests, initiate online bill pay as needed
• Manage cash flow scenarios and reporting
Reporting
• Prepare monthly and year-end analyses and reports
• Prepare Fair Value reports
• Calculate Investment IRRs
Funds
• Ensure investor documentation is received and maintained
• Review fund admin accounting and reports
• Assist with fund compliance as needed
• Maintain waterfall and carry calculations as well as projections
Tax
• Prepare files for tax preparation
• Track tax deadlines for all entities in the group
• Assist with income tax planning and forecasting
Other
• Assist in budget preparation and analysis
Special projects as assigned
This is a tremendous opportunity for an individual with a high aptitude that wants to be involved in a family office, PE, Asset Management type organization and get to really learn all facets of the business while having interaction with senior leadership and owners. This position is based in North Bethesda and is in the office daily.

Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related area of study
Ability to work onsite at the company's HQ in North Bethesda daily
1+ year of accounting experience
Strong business acumen
Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
Proficient with MS Excel
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Flexible and adaptable to successfully work in an environment with changing demands and timelines
Highly reliable, collaborative, discrete and collegial
PLUS - fluent in Mandarin (will sponsor H1B for this skillset)
