Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the Non-Profit sector, based in North Charleston, South Carolina. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a vital role in managing the cash handling processes for our operations, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all transactions and records.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of large sums of cash
• Oversee daily balancing and maintenance of the cash drawer
• Secure and document counted cash appropriately
• Develop and provide comprehensive reports detailing cash amounts, observed discrepancies, and significant issues
• Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations regarding handling of government funds
• Support additional accounting activities as needed or assigned
• Conduct regular audit checks to confirm accurate record keeping
• Uphold a high level of discretion and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the work
• Utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, to manage cash activities and records
• Handle account reconciliation, billing, data entry, and manage petty cash account and daily cash management activities. Requirements • Applicant must possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation, with the ability to accurately balance financial accounts.
• Experience in Billing is essential, as the role involves generating invoices and account statements.
• Must have proficient Data Entry skills to ensure accurate and efficient input of financial information into the system.
• The candidate should have experience managing a Petty Cash Account, including disbursing cash and keeping meticulous records.
• Daily Cash Management skills are required, as the role involves overseeing the organization's daily cash operations.
• The role requires the ability to manage Excess Cash, including making decisions on where to allocate surplus funds.
• Candidate must be comfortable with Cash Transactions, including receiving and depositing cash, as well as recording cash transactions.
• Cash Handling skills are essential, as the role involves physically handling cash on a daily basis.
• The ability to maintain a correct Cash Balance is crucial, including reconciling cash accounts and reporting any discrepancies.
• The candidate must have experience monitoring Cash Activity, including tracking all cash inflows and outflows.
