This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the North Dallas, Texas region. Candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. What you get to do every single day
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Requirements - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
CPA or MBA preferred
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Deep understanding of Sarbanes Oxley
Command of financial reporting
US GAAP experience desired
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
