JOB SUMMARY: The VP, Accounting Operations & Reporting oversees all aspects of an organization's general ledger maintenance process, accounting month-end close, and the regulatory accounting and reporting function. Responsible for all monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory reports. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES): Manages the general ledger chart of accounts maintenance, general ledger interface and systems mapping, as well as the overall reconciliation process of the Bank. Manages timely and accurate analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger and internal accounts. Coordinates the preparation, reviews, and filings of all quarterly FDIC Call Reports. Manages the preparation and filing of all weekly, quarterly, and annual Federal Reserve and Federal Home Loan Bank regulatory reporting requirements. Communicates with executives on the financial positioning of the firm at large. Oversees the Accounts Payable Team, which includes and approve daily accounts payable invoices, review monthly new prepaids and fixed asset purchases. Directs and monitors day-to-day accounting activities in accordance with internal procedures and controls. Reviews monthly and quarterly tax provisions, quarterly tax payments, and deferred tax calculations. Oversees the month end close process. Participates in the department hiring, promotion, and review process while managing, mentoring, and improving support staff performance. Coaches and develops team to ensure we are meeting the needs of the company. Exercises awareness with regard to possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department. Performs all job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules. Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Equivalent Education/Experience Advanced knowledge in financial accounting, budgeting as well as financial planning policies, procedures, and practices. Advanced knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, FDICIA) as well as regulatory and financial reporting policies, procedures, and practices. Advanced knowledge in US GAAP, financial reporting, and SEC reporting required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent leadership, team building, analytical, decision making and team development skills. Proficient in Word, Excel, & Outlook. Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions. Ability to form, lead, and develop high performance team. Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
