Robert Half Payroll Specialist in North Las Vegas, Nevada
Description
We are offering a long-term contract for a Payroll Specialist role located in North Las Vegas. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be managing the payroll functions and ensuring the accuracy of payroll. Additionally, you will be assisting with ad hoc projects related to payroll systems currently being implemented. The ideal Payroll Specialist will have relevant payroll experience with a large company processing in house payroll, prior Oracle experience, and the ability to work 4 10-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate with IT to resolve payroll system issues and implement necessary modifications
• Provide support on all payroll related activities and ensure payroll practices and systems are in compliance with all state and federal regulations
• Utilize various software packages to extract and report payroll data for a variety of purposes, including management and public information requests
• Respond to inquiries, provide information and resolve complaints from employees regarding payroll and central timekeeping processes
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and training plans for payroll applications
• Recommend changes to payroll policies and procedures and implement approved changes
• Produce payroll data and reports in support of collective bargaining and contract administration requirements
• Coordinate the testing and migration of mandatory payroll patches and provide technical support to payroll end-users
• Manage operational and administrative problems, evaluate alternatives, recommend solutions, and implement adopted changes
• Maintain and purge various departmental files in an organized manner

Requirements
• At least 3 years of relevant payroll processing experience
• In house payroll processing experience
• Familiarity with Oracle
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in Full Cycle Payroll
• Proficiency in using Excel
