Description
Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting throughout the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

Requirements
Knowledge of journal entries
Proven knowledge of Asset Inventory
Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
Billing experience
Well-founded grasp of Shipping
Solid understanding of GAAP Accounting
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Proficient in ERP systems
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
