Cost Analyst – Construction Industry - Hybrid / Remote Role!
Construction company in the Northampton area is looking for a Cost Analyst to join their team. Reporting into the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for project costing and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, monthly financial analysis, variance analysis, budget vs. actual, trend analysis, presentations to senior management and ad hoc analysis.
Responsibilities
• Will be responsible for project forecasting:
• Utilizing data from the "past" and "present" billings (YMT, inventory control, logistics coordinators, etc.)
· Propose upcoming material purchases and sales, based on projected surpluses / deficits, for review and approval by management
• Equipment rates and utilization
• Equipment cost transparency - triangulate real costs with market benchmarks and bottom-up analyses to make recommendations about equipment rates to carry in bids
· Own equipment utilization dashboards - survey users for design criteria, build / update dashboards and weekly report
· Propose equipment liquidations and purchases based on past data plus future forecast
Minimum requirements for the Cost Analyst include a BS in Finance or Accounting and 3+ years of relevant financial analysis experience. Any construction industry experience or project costing is a plus!
Base salary range of $65-75k plus benefits DOE.

Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis
Project Cost experience preferred
Activity Based Costing (ABC) experience a plus
Proficiency in job costing a plus
Financial planning & analysis
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
Skill with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred
Excellent oral and written communications skills

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
