Description Robert Half is hiring outstanding candidates for a fast-growing company's Financial Analyst position. In this Financial Analyst position, you will conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze, and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. In addition to preparing reports for management, you will help advise management on the distribution of resources to best complete objectives. In this role, you will serve as a key business partner in areas such as forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. The daily tasks of a Financial Analyst position includes supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. Additionally, you will assist with operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. Located in the Deerfield, Illinois, this Financial Analyst role is a permanent employment opportunity.

What you get to do every single day

  • Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

  • Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

  • Work closely with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close processes

  • Deliver valuable foresight and decision support by enabling effective Business Intelligence (BI)

  • Produce and manage forecasting reports

  • Ensure business partners handle their resources by tracking monthly and quarterly performance through the comparison of actuals versus expectations

  • Explain and understand internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

  • Flexible individuals comfortable with large amounts of information, and adept at managing expectations

  • Drive Area/Segment-level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis, as well as P& L forecasting

  • Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

  • Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, strategic resource allocation and prioritization, and event tracking and execution Requirements - Background in financial analysis and planning

  • Prior experience in Spreadsheet and ERP system

  • Experience with financial data management processes & systems, e.g. Oracle/Hyperion/SAP Business Objects/SFDC/Tableau- Solid understanding of budget forecasting

  • Financial analysis experience

  • Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

  • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

  • 2+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
