Robert Half ERP Support Technician in Norwalk, Connecticut

Description

We are on the hunt for a dedicated ERP Support Technician to join our team in Fairfield County, Connecticut. As an ERP Support Technician, your main role will be to support and maintain our ERP systems, ensuring their smooth operation, and provide first-level end-user support. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing your skills in SAP, ERP, and AS 400.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the support and maintenance of ERP systems and related equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

• Regularly monitor processes and jobs, taking note of any console messages and responding promptly.

• Handle the scheduling and monitoring of backups, as well as basic SAP and AS400 user administration.

• Be responsible for tape management and minor printer maintenance tasks.

• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly jobs.

• Prepare, distribute, and maintain hard and soft copy documents as required.

• Develop and maintain documentation for ERP support procedures and document distribution.

• Provide reliable coverage for other ERP support shifts during vacations, optional leaves, and sick days.

• Offer first-level end-user support for SAP and AS400, addressing any issues or queries.

• Manage computer supplies inventory efficiently.

• Assist application developers as and when needed, contributing to overall team success.

Requirements

• Applicant must hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Understanding in SAP is required.

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is a must.

• Experience with IBM AS 400 is desirable.

• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; any relevant experience is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills are necessary.

• Ability to work well in a team environment is essential.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Candidate must be willing to work in a chemicals manufacturing environment.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is necessary.

• Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues is expected.
