Robert Half Financial Analyst - Entry Level in NORWALK, Connecticut
Description Are you looking for a new role to cultivate in your career? Robert Half has an opportunity for a professional seeking an entry-level role as a Financial Analyst in the Marketing/PR industry. Play a vital role in this entry-level Financial Analyst position, in which you will provide daily support to the accounting and finance departments as well as perform routine assignments and solve routine/standard problems with limited discretion. We are searching for an individual that is comfortable working with uncertainty and handling a sizable amount of information. If you are a solution-oriented critical thinker with a passion for analysis, this is the Financial Analyst opportunity for you! Offered on a long-term duration, this is a contract / temporary to hire position.
Responsibilities
Be a factor in ensuring adequate controls and procedures
Condense and peruse budgets and income statement forecasts
Be able to clarify to non-financial staff members complicated financial subjects in special projects
Be conductive in the production of monthly financial reporting and other business data
Reinforce the monitoring and maintaining internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Collaborate on annual budgeting process
Previous experience in assisting internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
Assist in various aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)
Investigate concluding results at the corporate and division levels
Check and query a generous amounts of data
Devise unique alternatives and solutions to reduce costs and elevate financial performance of a company Requirements - Less than one year of experience is acceptable
Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Excellent attention to detail
Comprehensive knowledge of Excel Formulas
Command of Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Capable of working independently with minimal oversight
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
- Knowledgeable computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems
