Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Payroll Manager to join our growing team. This position is responsible for managing the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for multistate payroll in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee processing of multistate payroll in an accurate and timely manner utilizing Ceridian (Dayforce).

  • Verify timekeeping records, approve overtime, and manage vacation, sick leave, and leave of absence applications.

  • Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures.

  • Protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Properly calculate deductions for taxes, benefits, and other applicable deductions.

  • Review changes to federal, state, and local laws that affect payroll and update practices accordingly.

  • Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and support audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred but not required.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is desired but not required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll management..

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), general ledger software, and payroll systems including Ceridian Dayforce (not required but highly preferred)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.

  • Up-to-date with labor legislation and professional standards.

Requirements

• Understanding of General Accounting Functions is beneficial.

• Experience with Ceridian and Dayforce software is preferred.

• Ability to manage Full Cycle Payroll is essential.

• Knowledge of Multistate Payroll processes is required.

• Prior experience in a Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director role is advantageous.

• Strong organizational and leadership skills are needed.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Ability to work independently and make decisions under tight deadlines is crucial.

• Must adhere to confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive payroll information.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Relevant certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.

• Demonstrable knowledge of payroll-related tax laws and regulations is beneficial.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively is required.
