Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Norwell, Massachusetts
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Norwell, Massachusetts. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing industry by handling accounts payable activities and acting as the primary contact for vendors. This role will primarily be based on-site.
Responsibilities:
• Handle accounts payable activities efficiently, ensuring all AP related duties are thoroughly managed.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all vendors, addressing queries and resolving issues promptly.
• Post and file accounts payable invoices, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments via phone and email to facilitate smooth operations.
• Utilize accounting software systems to manage and monitor customer accounts.
• Apply knowledge of the manufacturing industry's automated AP process to improve efficiencies.
• Employ skills in enterprise resource planning (ERP) to optimize AP processes.
• Utilize account coding skills to accurately categorize AP transactions.
• Handle accrual accounting tasks, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and accurate.
• Conduct regular auditing of AP processes to ensure compliance and accuracy. Requirements • Proficiency in account coding and accrual accounting
• Experience with accounting software systems and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with accounting functions and accounts payable (AP)
• Ability to perform auditing tasks
• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions
• Understanding of the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in 3 Way Matching
• Ability to work within a team and independently
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred
• Relevant certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) is a plus.
