Robert Half has a client in the construction industry seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic Controller to join their esteemed company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. How you will make an impact
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Construction industry experience
Solid accounting GL experience (GAAP and cash-based at the company)
Demonstrated ability to communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels within the company
Supervisory experience (will have 2-3 staff)
