Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Novi, Michigan

Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team located in NOVI, Michigan, United States. In this role, you will be entrusted with the management of accounting and purchasing personnel, overseeing the production of periodic financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role will also involve streamlining workflow processes and implementing new procedures to enhance the efficiency of the department.

Responsibilities:

• Implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk

• Oversee the production of periodic financial reports and ensure they comply with generally accepted accounting principles

• Recommend benchmarks to measure the company’s performance

• Reconcile general ledger accounts

• Assist in the preparation of asset, liability, and capital account entries

• Prepare payroll files, oversee payroll tax filings and distributions

• Assist with corporate tax filings and payments

• Manage Month End Close Procedure

• Respond to inquiries from the CFO and President regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and various projects

• Perform cost analysis of projects and completed projects and determine variances

• Maintain detail oriented and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing detail oriented publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in detail oriented societies Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or related field.

• Should possess profound knowledge and expertise in Accounting Functions.

• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services is a mandatory requirement.

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is desired.

• Should have substantial experience in Auditing.

• Ability to handle Month End Close tasks efficiently is necessary.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

• Must demonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

• Should have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is required.

• Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is preferred.

• Should be able to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Must have the ability to work independently and with a team, demonstrating a collaborative mindset.

• Familiarity with financial software and systems is a plus.

• Must be able to adapt to new tools and software platforms as necessary.

• Should be able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

• Decision-making and problem-solving skills are required.

• Must demonstrate a high level of detail oriented integrity and ethical standards.

• Should have the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.

• Must be able to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial staff.

• Should exhibit a continuous learning mindset and keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
