Robert Half Assistant Buyer in Oak Brook, Illinois

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a detail-oriented Sr. Administrative Assistant in Oak Brook, Illinois. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in supporting our jewelry department through purchasing support, inventory management, data analysis, and administrative tasks. This role is particularly suited to those with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Calendar Management, Correspondence, Documentation, Retail, Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, Administrative Assistance, and Data Entry skills.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze market trends and customer preferences to inform purchasing decisions.

• Foster strong relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.

• Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels to meet customer demand.

• Collaborate with the inventory team to track incoming and outgoing shipments.

• Participate in regular inventory audits and reconciliations.

• Utilize pivot tables and VLOOKUPs in Excel to analyze sales data and inventory trends.

• Create reports and present findings to support purchasing and inventory decisions.

• Recommend strategies to optimize inventory management based on data analysis.

• Provide support during sales events, promotions, and product launches.

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory, and sales data, and distribute regular reports and updates to the senior buyer and management. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP functions

• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word

• Experience in Calendar Management

• Strong skills in Correspondence and Documentation

• Background in Retail is advantageous

• Proven track record in Administrative Assistance

• Proficient in Data Entry

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively

• Proactive and problem-solving mentality

• High level of discretion and confidentiality

• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt in a changing environment

• High school diploma or equivalent required, higher education or certifications in relevant field preferred.
