Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Network Administrator to join our client's information technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting their organization’s network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. As a Network Administrator, you will work closely with other information technology professionals to ensure smooth daily operations and troubleshoot network-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network systems.

  • Network Security: Monitor and manage network security through firewalls, VPNs, and other security tools to safeguard against unauthorized access, attacks, and breaches.

  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Provide support for end-users regarding connectivity issues.

  • Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance, proactively addressing issues to prevent downtime and optimizing network performance.

  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain network backup strategies, including data recovery plans to ensure business continuity.

  • Documentation: Maintain network configuration documentation, system manuals, and network diagrams to facilitate troubleshooting and planning.

  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams to plan, implement, and support network infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and improvements.

  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in network design, configuration, and management.

  • Vendor Management: Work with third-party vendors and service providers to procure network equipment and resolve any issues related to external services.

    Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar information technology role.

  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), routing, and switching.

  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security systems.

  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and systems (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).

  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network hardware (routers, switches, wireless access points, etc.).

  • Experience with cloud-based networks and virtualized environments (preferred).

  • Knowledge of network operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, or similar platforms.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, preferred.
