Description
Network Design and Implementation:
Design and deploy LANs, WANs, and VPNs, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network-related hardware.
Implement network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and access control policies to safeguard the network.
Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum network availability and performance.
Respond to network outages and degradation of services with timely fixes and proactive solutions.
Perform routine audits of systems and software to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
Network Upgrades and Optimization:
Plan and execute network hardware and software upgrades.
Optimize network performance by analyzing usage trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure that all network infrastructure adheres to organizational security policies and industry regulations.
Implement and monitor intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and other protective measures.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
Prepare network performance reports for management review.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with the IT team and other departments to resolve network-related issues.
Provide technical support and training to staff on network systems and best practices.
Liaise with vendors and service providers for network services, contracts, and hardware maintenance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPsec, HSRP, VRRP).
Firsthand experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.
Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar.
Understanding of firewalls, VPNs, and security protocols.
Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN technology is a plus.
Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Ansible) is a plus.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
