Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Oak Brook, Illinois

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in OAK BROOK, Illinois. This role requires the individual to work in the Real Estate & Property industry. The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, analyzing financial activity, and maintaining the highest standards of personal and professional integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to company’s policies and procedures, comply with applicable laws, government rules and regulations.

• Prepare and review financial statements including bank reconciliations for portfolios of a complex nature.

• Analyze financial activity and provide a summary of the financial status.

• Record acquisition and disbursement activity for both new and existing assets.

• Review and understand general ledger activities for accurate record keeping.

• Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

• Assist in the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

• Train staff level accountants to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest accounting practices.

• Assist with audits and related footnotes for complete transparency.

• Handle special accounting projects as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in the Real Estate & Property industry as an Accountant

• Advanced proficiency in using Excel for financial analysis and reporting

• Demonstrated ability in handling General Ledger operations

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data

• Experience in preparing and maintaining analysis documentation

• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Professional certification such as CPA would be advantageous

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
