Description
System Management:
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware.
Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
Manage and maintain all infrastructure and system installations, including configurations, testing, and maintenance procedures.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and maintain security best practices, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
Ensure the systems comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT team members.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
Document system configurations, changes, and procedures for troubleshooting and maintenance.
Backup and Recovery:
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Perform regular backup operations and data restores as needed.
Test backup and recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
Network and Infrastructure:
Manage network servers and technology tools, including DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Ensure the network infrastructure is secure and optimized for performance.
Automation and Scripting:
Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve system management efficiency.
Use scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline system administration processes.
Project Management:
Participate in IT projects and initiatives, providing expertise and support for system-related tasks.
Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to implement new technologies and solutions.
Requirements
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or a similar role.
Proven experience with systems, networks, and infrastructure management.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Windows, Linux, and/or UNIX operating systems.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Knowledge of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
