Robert Half Administrative Assistant in Oakland, California

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in the Education industry, located in Oakland, California. The role primarily involves ensuring smooth operations within an academic setting, including student registration, staff management, academic goal setting, schedule creation, and budgeting.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently process student enrolments and maintain records of student performance and attendance.

• Oversee daily school operations, including class scheduling and academic calendar creation.

• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop curriculum, educational programs, and course materials.

• Handle school logistics and budget, including ordering school supplies as necessary.

• Organize school events and assemblies, and liaise with parent-teacher associations or other parent organizations.

• Enforce adherence to educational standards and regulations.

• Supervise other school staff, such as janitors and school secretaries.

• Address disciplinary issues, from student misconduct to staff performance problems.

• Attend and participate in school board meetings.

• Use Microsoft Office and education management systems for administrative tasks and communication. Requirements • Proficiency in answering inbound calls, demonstrating excellent telephonic communication skills.

• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to handle queries and concerns in a detail oriented manner.

• Ability to perform data entry tasks with high attention to detail and accuracy.

• Skilled in email correspondence, capable of drafting and sending detail oriented emails.

• Experience in handling both inbound and outbound calls, ensuring effective communication at all times.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets.

• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, capable of managing emails, calendars, and contacts.

• Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to create engaging presentations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, capable of drafting and editing documents.
