Description
We are in search of a Controller to become a part of our thriving team in the Transport industry, based in OAKLAND, California. The Controller will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions including: coordinate and supervise staff of five or more; prepare consolidated financial statements; maintain accounting records and ledgers; demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations; streamline processes and work cooperatively with clients and employees; monitor receivables collections; reconcile bank statements and cash receipts; prepare budgets and oversee payroll; prepare and coordinate state sales, federal excise tax, and use tax returns; prepare Department of Transportation (DOT) and other government reports; prepare external audit reports; handle other projects and duties as assigned; monitor financial performance, and provide leadership and support for the accounting staff.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in Business and Accounting Finance
• Experienced CPA and CMA, with 10 years of experience
• Proficient in Excel and computerized accounting systems
• Supervision and personnel management
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multitask, organize time, and meet deadlines
• Be self-motivated to provide oversite of each of the functions in the Accounting Department and be responsible for preparing monthly and annual financial statements for Board review
• Ability to work closely with senior management, reporting directly to the President and CEO
• Strong work ethic with team oriented attitude
• Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and regulations
