Robert Half HR Director in Oakland, California

Description We are offering a contract opportunity for an HR Director in Oakland, California. The chosen candidate will be expected to manage HR operations and assist with various responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Leading and managing all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, labor relations, and employee development. • Collaborating with leadership to modernize HR processes and improve performance metrics. • Overseeing labor relations programs, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution while maintaining strong relationships with staff unions. • Implementing strategic talent management initiatives and leveraging technology to streamline operations and enhance employee engagement and development. • Supporting and managing a high-performance HR team, providing training, guidance, and mentorship to staff and managers. • Ensuring alignment with the union's mission and goals, workers' compensation, benefits administration, risk management, and employee record maintenance. • Developing and sustaining a high-performance HR team. • Identifying, recruiting, developing, and collaborating with leaders to effectively implement the union's mission, goals, and initiatives. • Handling the day-to-day HR operations and support for up to 169 employees. • Utilizing skills in ADP Workforce Now, Benefit Functions, Communication, Compliance, Employee Relations, Union Contracts, Labor Relations. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar HR role within the Government sector

• Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now

• Experience in managing Benefit Functions

• Excellent Communication skills

• Proven track record in ensuring Compliance in HR practices

• Demonstrated expertise in Employee Relations

• Familiarity with Union Contracts

• Experience in Labor Relations

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred

• Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's mission and goals

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-informed decisions

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other HR-related software.
