Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist on a contract basis! You will be responsible for various billing tasks to ensure accuracy and maintain efficiency in the financial affairs of our healthcare operations. We require someone proficient in medical billing duties on Epic, our Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
Responsibilities:
· Verify the accuracy of patient accounts and update them accordingly in the Epic EHR software.
· Conduct billing operations and accurately input data into the EHR system.
· Prepare and send out invoice statements to patients, taking care to ensure that the costs of services are correctly calculated and recorded.
· Analyze and interpret complex data from various billing and scheduling systems.
· Perform all necessary adjustments to patient billing records, including posting changes, write-offs, refunds, and other related transactions.
· Regularly monitor and follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
· Evaluate the patient’s insurance coverage and work with insurance companies to eliminate any discrepancies in payment.
· Collaborate with medical providers and staff to ensure all necessary documents are completed and signed, and that all EOB's are studied.
· Consult with patients to address any of their billing concerns and handle any incoming inquiries.
· Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with health regulations.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field.
· At least two years of proven experience in medical billing or a similar role.
· Proficiency in Epic EHR software.
· Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, compliance, and reimbursement.
· Excellent data-entry skills and an eye for detail.
