Robert Half Medical Records Clerk in Oakland, California
Description
Robert Half Healthcare is currently partnering with multiple local Healthcare companies and clinics in the Oakland area that have ongoing needs for Medical Records Clerks on a contract basis.
· Managing and organizing a sufficient stock of pre-prepared charts available for incoming admissions.
· Allocating new medical record numbers for every fresh admission and maintaining a log of these record numbers.
· Preparing and upkeeping a list of diagnoses and corresponding codes.
· Ensuring the swift completion of the medical chart following an admission and making necessary updates to it.
· Conducting reviews on newly admitted patients' charts within 24 to 48 hours to guarantee all admission steps are complied with.
· Checking charts at month-end to confirm that all orders were carried over to the subsequent month.
· Providing required medical record details or duplicates to insurance agencies and other associated entities, in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
· Guaranteeing that certifications of Medicare A residents' charts stay current.
· Tracking physician visits to ensure scheduled appointments are maintained as per regulatory standards.
· Completing the discharge records promptly when a patient is discharged.
· Maintaining charts in the correct order.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Prior experience working in a healthcare, hospital, or clinic setting.
