Description
Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with exposure to Financial Planning and Analysis (FP& A), responsible for supporting general ledger operations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in financial processes and procedures, including debits and credits and should have experience working with small businesses. Knowledge of Sage software will be a distinct advantage.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheets, accounts and ledgers.
Assisting with the preparation, compilation, and analysis of financial data.
Carry out bookkeeping and month-end closing activities.
Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and adherence to GAAP.
Research and propose solutions for anomalies or discrepancies in financial data.
Assist with the financial planning and analysis activities, providing insights to management on financial performance and forecasts.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
Assist in the formation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and best practices.
Ad hoc financial projects as required.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Proven experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in a small business setting.
Strong knowledge of financial operations, including understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger codes.
Proficient in financial software, Sage proficiency would be a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to effectively analyze data.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of FP& A is a must.
CPA certification preferred but not required.
