Robert Half Staff Accountant in Oakville, Washington

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with exposure to Financial Planning and Analysis (FP& A), responsible for supporting general ledger operations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in financial processes and procedures, including debits and credits and should have experience working with small businesses. Knowledge of Sage software will be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheets, accounts and ledgers.

  • Assisting with the preparation, compilation, and analysis of financial data.

  • Carry out bookkeeping and month-end closing activities.

  • Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and adherence to GAAP.

  • Research and propose solutions for anomalies or discrepancies in financial data.

  • Assist with the financial planning and analysis activities, providing insights to management on financial performance and forecasts.

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.

  • Assist in the formation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and best practices.

  • Ad hoc financial projects as required.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in a small business setting.

  • Strong knowledge of financial operations, including understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger codes.

  • Proficient in financial software, Sage proficiency would be a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to effectively analyze data.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of FP& A is a must.

  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
