Requiring applicants with Microsoft Office proficiency, Accountemps seeks a Payroll Administrator for payroll processing to fill a role with a company in the Construction/Contractor field. How you will make an impact
Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
Payroll record maintenance by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
Exercise of proper data management by collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data
Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
Perform review and verification of source documents
Able to reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities
Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests
Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary
Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads
Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages as part of report preparation
Help payroll manage all internal and external audits
Manage other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Relevant experience should include 2+ years in payroll
Mastery of internal controls
Data entry experience preferred
Strong familiarity with garnishments payroll
Solid understanding of Weekly Payroll
Knowledge of Union Payroll
Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Experience using accounting software
Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Certified Payroll detail oriented designation favored
Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
