Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Odessa, Florida
Description We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Odessa, Florida. In this role, you will be tasked with handling various accounting tasks, including processing invoices, reconciling business accounts, maintaining and updating ledgers, and handling accounts payable and receivable. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently processing incoming invoices and ensuring timely payments.
• Reconciliation of business accounts to verify that payments align with goods and services received.
• Maintenance and updating of accounts payable ledger, including proper filing of invoices and receipts.
• Addressing queries from vendors, contractors, and other business departments regarding accounts payable or payments made.
• Generation of accounts payable reports and financial statements.
• Preparation of invoices, matching of payments to invoices, and updating of statements with received transactions.
• Follow-up with customers or suppliers with outstanding payments and making collection calls when necessary.
• Investigation and research of invoice discrepancies and ensuring the accuracy of accounting ledgers.
• Assistance with month-end closing and preparation of monthly metrics.
• Maintenance and updating of customer files and assistance with payment reconciliations.
• Completion of credit card reconciliations.
• Completion of ad hoc reports as required. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, and Sage 100 is highly desirable
• Must be capable of performing account reconciliation tasks
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
• Should be able to handle billing tasks efficiently
• Ability to perform data entry tasks accurately
• Experience in invoice processing is a must
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations.
