Robert Half Cost Accountant in Odessa, Texas

Description We are looking for a meticulous Cost Accountant to join our team in Odessa, Texas. In this role, you will be working closely with our manufacturing team to track internal costs for each unit. You will also be responsible for updating the bill of materials and coordinating with vendors on the manufacturing purchasing process. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Work within the Cost Accounting system to track internal costs for each unit developed.

• Collaborate with the manufacturing team, Chief Technology officer, and CFO to maintain and update the bill of materials.

• Coordinate with a group of 15 vendors on the entire purchasing process of manufacturing.

• Utilize MS Dynamics GP software for various accounting tasks.

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.

• Develop and implement cost accounting practices and procedures.

• Review and reconcile inventory monthly as part of the month-end close process.

• Evaluate operational costs and suggest cost-saving measures.

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and company policies.

• Participate in budget processes and engage in cost analysis to support budgeting decisions. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with CapEx

• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Expertise in ERP Solutions

• Understanding of various Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Proficiency in Cost Accounting and Cost Analysis

• Experience with Alliance Manufacturing - Dynamics

• Knowledge of Contract Manufacturing

• Familiarity with Manufacture process and Manufactured Products

• Proficiency in Manufacturing Assembly and Manufacturing Cost Accounting

• Understanding of Manufacturing Costs and Manufacturing Company operations

• Experience in Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Environment

• Knowledge of Manufacturing Equipment and Manufacturing Industry

• Familiarity with Manufacturing management, Manufacturing Methods, and Manufacturing Operation

• Proficiency in Manufacturing Practices and Manufacturing Principles

• Understanding of Manufacturing Process, Manufacturing Setting, and Manufacturing Variance

• Experience with Dynamics GP.
