Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States. The primary function of this role is to manage financial data with a strong emphasis on Accounts Payable responsibilities. The workplace is fast-paced and requires a meticulous approach to handling financial data, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the end-to-end process of accounts payable, including verifying invoices for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate approval.

• Code invoices to the correct general ledger accounts and cost centers.

• Process payments accurately and on time.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Maintain vendor files and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.

• Assist in the processing and reconciliation of employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment inquiries, discrepancies, and other matters as needed.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions, including reconciliations and journal entries.

• Support the accounting team during month-end close by preparing accruals, reconciling accounts, and providing necessary reports and documentation.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards and regulations.

• Generate reports and provide analysis related to accounts payable as requested by management. Requirements • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Advanced knowledge of Excel Formulas

• Proven experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures

• Proficiency in using accounting software and systems

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferable

• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
