Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Description

Growing Private equity backed oil and gas exploration company is looking for an Accounting Manager to add to their growing team. This role will be responsible for financial reporting and the preparation of financial packages. Ideal candidate will Bachelor's degree in Accounting along with a CPA or be CPA eligible. Previous oil and gas experience is required along with 5+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise, direct, and review the work of accounting staff including revenue, JIBs and treasury management

• Review and report on monthly financial statements including variances to budget

• Oversee the private company year-end audit with external auditors and assist in the preparation and review of audit requests. Lead the preparation of audited financials including footnotes and disclosure

• Oversee third party tax firm data requests and review partnership tax return and K-1’s. No specialty tax designation is required as these schedules are prepared by third party firm

• Oversee the onboarding from accounting perspective of any acquisitions as well as divestitures

• Monitor/review monthly account reconciliations; ensure normal balances

• Manage, monitor and work to improve accounting procedures, internal controls and database management ensuring compliance

• Audits workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards

• Recommend policy and process improvements within the accounting department

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience.

• Proven proficiency in WolfePak software is preferred

• Demonstrated experience in Financial Reporting is required.

• Experience in Joint Interest Billing (JIB) is preferred

• Knowledge and understanding of the Oil Exploration industry is necessary.

• Expertise in Oil & Gas - Revenue Reporting is crucial.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are necessary.

• Must have strong leadership skills and be able to manage a team effectively.

• Ability to make strategic decisions and work in a fast-paced environment is essential.

• Must be able to multitask and effectively prioritize tasks.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

• CPA or relevant certification is preferred.
