Robert Half International CD/CI Applications Architect in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Our client in Downtown Oklahoma City is currently expanding their Software Development team and looking for a Senior Applications Architect to join their team. As a member of the Customer Engagement and Commerce technology team, the Applications Architect will design and build software solutions; provide design and code reviews; ensure that uniform enterprise wide application design standards are maintained; and collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure architecture is aligned with business requirements. This position will serve all software engineering architecture needs of entire customer engagement portfolio which includes cloud native Domain APIs, Mobile Apps, Web apps used in 3600 retail locations nationwide to serve approximately 3+ million customers daily. This is a long-term consulting opportunity, looking to pay up to $75/hr.
Work in close collaboration with the IT teams to create and deliver high quality, impactful software solutions that meet business requirements as well as set specifications for new applications and APIs
Responsible for verifying stability, performance, interoperability, security, scalability of application architecture, and providing technical leadership to the application development team
Identify risks and proactively work to minimize negative impact while ensuring enterprise design and implementation standards are maintained
Design creative prototypes according to specifications, write high quality, unit-tested source code within deadlines, and conduct functional/non-functional testing
Develop technical documentation to accurately represent application design and code and troubleshoot and debug applications, as needed
Represent Customer Engagement and Commerce portfolio during Enterprise Architecture & Cybersecurity review and approval process.
BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
8+ years’ experience in Software development and delivery experience in C++, Java, .NET, or other modern programming languages
Experience working with Agile, lean, CI/CD and/or XP practices DevOps experience and experience in iOS and/or Android applications is a plus
A passion for software engineering within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Knowledge of software best practices like Refactoring, Clean Code, Domain Driven Design, Encapsulation, etc.
Experience in working as a part of large, diverse teams building custom applications
Great Object-Oriented skills, including strong design pattern knowledge
Ability to connect with people and to quickly build trust with others.

Specific Tasks to Achieve 1. Review Domain APIs to ensure atomicity, consistency & isolation. Recommend improvements in architecture to address those needs. 2. Review Domain API application stack and suggest performance and scaling improvements including but not limited to JVM tuning, SQL & NoSQL database tuning, Message queue implementation improvements etc. 3. Review Domain API application stack and build out an architecture evolution plan to help mature current architecture to support CQRS 4. Review Domain API application stack and make recommendations for introducing new open source tools/framework that would help scale DAPIs or improve monitoring DAPIs 5. Complete application stack architecture analysis for modernizing Sonic’s website and introduce order ahead capability and deliver reference architecture for this initiative including technology stack recommendations. 6. Complete application stack, containerization & host stack and DevOps toolset analysis and deliver reference architecture for modernizing one of their main systems..
