Description
Job Summary:
As a Temp-to-Hire Soft Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining positive relationships with clients while effectively addressing outstanding account balances. This role involves utilizing excellent communication skills, negotiation techniques, and empathy to assist clients in resolving overdue payments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and possess the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Contact clients via phone, email, and mail to facilitate the resolution of overdue accounts in a professional and respectful manner.
Negotiate payment plans and settlements with clients, taking into consideration their financial circumstances and company policies.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection activities and client interactions in the company's database.
Collaborate with internal departments, including billing and customer service, to address client inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
Monitor and prioritize collection accounts based on aging reports and established collection strategies.
Provide regular updates on collection activities and account statuses to management.
Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to collections practices.
Continuously strive to meet and exceed individual and team collection targets and performance metrics.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in finance, business, or related field preferred.
Previous experience in collections, customer service, or a related field is highly desirable.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively handle challenging situations.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with collections software is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with regulations governing collections practices.
