Description Robert Half is helping a renowned services company find an ambitious candidate to fill the role of a Controller. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma region.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

  • Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

  • Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team

  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management Requirements - Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

  • Practical knowledge of depreciation

  • Financial Close Process experience

  • QuickBooks experience

  • Expertise in financial analysis

  • Background working with Real Estate Assets

  • Adeptness in financial reporting

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial reconciliation

  • Fixed assets experience highly preferred

  • Financial planning experience highly desired

  • Foundational knowledge in financial modeling

  • General familiarity with financial statements consolidation

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • Strong communication and social skills

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
