Robert Half Network Technician in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Cable Technician role based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and minor repair work of various cable systems including CAT6 and phone wiring. You will also be involved in maintaining the GIS inventory of our fiber network and providing support to the Helpdesk team for customer-related wiring and cabling issues. This role requires flexibility to work during nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Perform installations of CAT6 cabling for network connectivity.

• Install and maintain phone wiring systems.

• Conduct minor fiber optic installations, terminations, and repairs.

• Assist in the maintenance and updating of GIS inventory for our fiber network.

• Ensure network connectivity and address cabling issues promptly.

• Inform customers about progress, changes, and any outages or incidents.

• Provide support to the Helpdesk team for customer-related wiring and cabling issues.

• Be available to work nights and weekends as required for installations and maintenance tasks.

• Participate in the installation and maintenance of broadband and EO/IR systems.

• Assist in networking tasks and patch panel operations.

• Contribute in cable installation, cabling, and management of coax cable systems.

• Participate in AB Testing and digital operations as required. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in broadband technology

• Familiarity with EO/IR systems

• Solid understanding of networking principles

• Extensive experience with outside plant (OSP) operations

• Ability to work with patch panels

• Knowledge of AB testing methods

• Experience in cable installation processes

• Skilled in handling various types of cabling

• Proficiency in working with coax cable systems

• Understanding of digital technologies and systems

• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain cable systems

• Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Willingness to work in various locations and travel as needed
