Set in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area, the company offering this long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity encourages innovation and rewards effort in the work place. The Staff Accountant plays a major role in the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A great deal of time in this position will be spent producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You'll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You'll also be involved in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
Your responsibilities in this role
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements - Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Proficient in ERP systems
Comprehensive knowledge of Excel Formulas
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Strong attention to detail
Recent and relevant accounting experience
