Robert Half Systems Administrator in Okmulgee, Oklahoma

Description We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. This role involves technical design, planning, implementation, and performance tuning for our mission-critical enterprise systems. The successful candidate will serve as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems and will be responsible for recommending system redesigns and configurations. This contract to hire employment opportunity is an exciting chance to provide high-level service and contribute to our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations including system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair

• Work closely with vendors to assist support activities

• Develop new system and application implementation plans, including custom scripts and testing procedures

• Lead problem-solving efforts that may involve external vendors, support personnel, and other organizations

• Establish, maintain, and manage user AD accounts

• Install, modify, and maintain systems and utility software on server computer systems

• Establish guidelines for the installation and management of host computer operating systems, disk arrays, fiber channel switches, and backups

• Develop procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use and user abuse

• Create procedures, programs, and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications

• Stay current with technological developments in systems administration technology. Requirements • The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator.

• Proficiency in VMware is a must-have skill for this role.

• Experience in System Backups is essential.

• Knowledge of Enterprise Backup is a requirement for this position.

• The applicant should have proficiency in Unix System Administration.

• Familiarity with System Performance is necessary for this role.

• Expertise in System Patching is required for this job.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are expected.

• The ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others is necessary.

• The candidate should be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
