Robert Half International Payroll Administrator in Old Bridge, New Jersey

Description Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Administrator who can process large multi-state payrolls. This role will be a fully remote position at 30 hours per week with a very reputable company. This role requires prior experience processing payrolls of 500+ employees and strong knowledge of wage deductions. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Excel and ADP software. Applicants who offer articulate communication skills, in addition to strong problem-solving abilities, will find this to be the perfect opportunity. In this role you will need to be able to meet deadlines, pay close attention to detail and work under minimal supervision as this opportunity is remote.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage employee deductions and other liabilities

  • Guarantee company compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

  • Review source documents with necessary verification

  • Handle all payroll information questions and requests

  • Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data

  • Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary

  • Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads

  • Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

  • Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential

  • Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments

  • Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll

  • Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records

  • Handle payroll discrepancies through information collection and analysis

  • Handle other duties as necessary Requirements - Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills

  • Preference will be given to Certified Payroll detail oriented

  • Previous experience using accounting software

  • 4+ years of strong payroll experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Multi-state Payroll

  • Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
