Robert Half Payroll Administrator in Olympia, Washington

Description

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator for a contract to permanent opportunity within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide array of payroll and human resources functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage staffing changes such as hiring, rehires, transfers, separations, and shift differentials on the HRMS and/or Benefits 24/7 systems.

  • Ensure accurate processing and reviewing of PEBB worksheets.

  • Maintain and track benefits to be in compliance with HCA, OFM, CBA’s, and agency policies.

  • Communication with DRS, HCA, or insurance carriers as required.

  • Determine and process special pay for qualifying employees.

  • Completed all necessary inquiry forms for employment and/or salary verification from various financial institutions or State Agencies.

  • Assist with time processing and manage communications with time processors as required.

  • Detect, investigate, and rectify any HRMS redline and financial errors (ALAS or RECIPE).

  • Create, monitor and maintain all employees' hardcopy file folders.

  • Manage payroll processing based on relevant rules and regulations including Collective Bargaining Agreements, the revised code of Washington, Washington Administrative Codes, DES, HCA, DRS, IRS, and OFM.

  • Control, balance and adjust leave information entries.

  • Handle data entry and retrieval on state’s payroll (HRMS), healthcare Benefits 24/7, and retirement systems (ERA).

  • Manage shared leave, garnishments, over and underpayments, health adjustments, and other deductions with precision.

  • Analyze and calculate payroll and data adjustments with reference to IRS levies, wage assignments, deceased employee’s benefits and similar cases.

  • Prepare and handle payment and journal vouchers for the processing of shared leave, garnishments, Warrant cancellations, and statute of limitations.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of HR and payroll functions.

  • Proven experience in a similar role.

  • Proficiency with HRMS and Payroll software.

  • Ability to manage large datasets and complex calculations.

  • Familiarity with pertinent HR and payroll laws and regulations.
