Robert Half Assistant Controller in Omaha, Nebraska

Description

A well-respected Manufacturing & Wholesale Distribution company is looking for a success-driven Assistant Controller with the help of Robert Half. The Assistant Controller will collaborate with the Director of Accounting & Finance to supervise the accounting staff and oversee all financial operations. We are seeking a self-starter with a demonstrated history of identifying issues and problem solving for this exciting Assistant Controller role. Apply as soon as possible! Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate to ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, development, and goal setting

  • Aid the accounting team during the closing process to guarantee deadlines are met

  • Establish relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

  • Help with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

  • Put together diversified policies, procedures, and technical accounting analyses

  • Make sure regular account reconciliation to completion

  • Other distinguished duties when required

  • Aid implementation and guarantee adherence to accounting policies and procedures

  • Distinguish and evolve process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

  • Inspect and make Ad Hoc financial reports

  • Backfill for Controller where appropriate

  • Progressive preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

  • Stimulate accountability and the meeting of deliverables

    Requirements

Prerequisite Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business field required.

  • 5+ years of total Accounting experience a must have at a minimum

  • Several years of managing Accounting teams and other staff members a must have

  • CPA, MBA, or CMA accreditation preferred but not a must have

  • A candidate that is adaptable and can handle evolving projects and duties highly desired

  • Ability to work closely with Senior Management in both Financial and Operational areas of the organization to drive strategy and growth
