Description

We are seeking a Controller for our non-profit team, based in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, providing financial reports, and implementing accounting methods and principles.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department

• Oversee month and year-end process, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and check runs

• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements

• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles

• Direct the organizational budget development process and provide recommendations

• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

• Reconcile cash and credit card receipts and import them to accounting software systems

• Oversee cash management and cash forecasts

• Handle cash/credit card during festivals

• Responsible for reconciliation and reporting of Sales & Use Tax

• Handle reconciliation and reporting of raffle/lottery

• Oversee reconciliation and reporting of live music events.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Budget Processes.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Controller role or related position

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Proven experience with Accounting Functions

• Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge and understanding of Budget Processes

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field is preferred

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Problem-solving aptitude

• Knowledge of financial legislation

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in the Amusement/Recreation Ser/Entertainment industry.
